Studio Weekend / Show Update

Hey fans,

I thought it would be a good time for an update since the ball is really getting rolling for the summer of TWN. As of May 12th, 2012 at 2 PM, tracking began for our first full length album, “The Whiskey Season”. We’ve spent the last two weekends tracking drums, guitar, and vocals and have the first four songs nearly complete. We will be doing the second batch of songs in late June / early July and then will be finishing up in September. Look for a late Fall release date on the album as well as a couple of new singles over the coming months to add to your summer playlists.

We’re also gearing up for our Boston show on June 15th at the Davis Square Theatre. There are only 50 tickets available for this show so if you haven’t gotten yours already talk to one of the band members immediately! You can also pick them up online here. We’re looking forward to closing the place down as we take the stage at 11PM. See you guys at the show!

April Show Wrap Up / Album News

Hey Everybody,

Well the April shows came and went and what a success they were. First up was Scene Stand at the Middle East Downstairs. It was definitely the biggest crowd we’ve played for (the show sold out shortly after doors opened) and it was one hell of a good time. We were really feeling the energy of the crowd and had without a doubt our best show to date. “Send the Runner” was a big hit and you can see footage of that performance here.

Then came our second shot at the Beachcomber and it was just as much a party as the first go around. Barricades opened up the night and got people moving with a killer set. We played a 1.5 hour set and had people grooving on the dance floor to originals like “Rich Mountain Tower” and our much anticipated “Call Me Maybe” cover (yes…live footage of this coming very soon.)

We’ll be taking a quick break from live shows until June when we will be visiting NYC and playing in Boston. In the meantime we are hitting the studio in May to record our first bundle of songs for our full length album. We’re hoping to release one of the new singles for your listening pleasure sometime in June so stay tuned!

All things TWN

Hey everybody,

It’s a busy time for all things TWN! We are gearing up for The Middle East Downstairs show this Saturday, April 14th in Cambridge, MA. Yesterday we hung out at The Middle East Corner where UNregular Radio was broadcasting live in anticipation for the big show. We did an interview on air and mingled with some of the other bands/fans that will be joining us next Saturday. The pre-sale tickets went quick but its a massive venue so there will still be plenty more tickets available at the door the night of the show for anybody that still needs one. We also have a new batch of t-shirts lined up that should be ready to go for the show. 

In other news, plans for the full length album are really starting to come together. I’ll be hitting the studio this Thursday to lay the groundwork for 3 songs that we will be recording in May. The beat bros hit the studio on May 12 to lay down bass and drums and Rol and I will be making our mark the following weekend with guitar and vocals. Look out for a new tune to be streaming on the sites in June after we get a chance to get them mixed down. We’re planning on using the rest of the summer to record a few more bundles of 2-3 songs and are hoping to have the album released by the fall.

Scene Stand this Saturday April 14th at the Middle East Down!

The Middle East / The River

Greetings fans, 

We spent last weekend gearing up for our first set at the Middle East Downstairs on Saturday 4/14. Rol came up to Boston from NYC and it was great to get a chance to hammer down some of the new tunes. We did some great stuff with the one of the newest songs “Elizabeth & The Heartstop Blues” and we’re really looking forward to playing it on the 14th. The rest of the set will be jam packed with the other new originals that the full length album is going to be focused around. The cheapest way to get tickets for the show is to message any of us on FB and we’ll get them too you!

In other exciting news, TWN’s music will be debuted on Boston’s 92.5 The River next Thursday, 3/29 at 10PM.  If you like what you hear and want more, do us a favor and hit up their request line at 1-800-352-9250 and demand more TWN!

Starting with St. Patty’s…

Hey folks, Project Whiskey aka Project Debut Full Length will get under way this St. Patrick’s day weekend as we go into pre-production up in Milton with “Rad” Brad McCarthy of 37′ Productions/Stillpoint Sound. We have a buttload of new tracks added to the arsenal, a few of which may be debuted on April 14th at the Middle East Downstairs (Tickets), a show you surely do not want to miss.

Bitter End and Album News

Hey all,

I wanted to start out by thanking all of our fans that came out to see us at The Bitter End in NYC on Saturday night. The show was a big success. We met some new fans, played with some fantastic bands and had a hell of a night all together. We played a 45 minute set that was jam packed with originals, including some of our new songs like “Send the Runner”, “Elizabeth & the Heartstop Blues”, “Float the Flood”, and of course “By the Indigo”. The crowd definitely seemed to be into the new stuff which we were very excited about.

In other news, we’ve begun to set up the initial plans to record our first full length album. It’s going to include all of the above songs as well as a couple re-recorded tunes from our E.P. and many more. It’s going to take some time but we will definitely be releasing a tune or two along the way to keep you all up to speed on what to expect for the finished product. There will be plenty of more news on this to come, so stay tuned!

Single Release(free download)/Bitter End 2/25

Hey folks!

It’s been awhile since our last update and a lot has been happening in the world of TWN. We recently released a brand new single, “By The Indigo”, available for free download from our Facebook and Reverbnation pages. This single marks the start of work on our debut full length and will only be available for limited time as a free download, so get yours now!

In show news, we will be playing this Saturday, February 25, at the Bitter End in New York City. We will be playing with a host of great bands from Boston and NYC alike such as Ocean* Transfer and Two Cent Sam and it will surely be a night you won’t want to miss. Entry is $10 at the door and doors are at 7:30. TWN set time is 9:30. See you there!

Inaugural Blogural

Hello World! You’re currently reading the first official post of the TWN blog. We’ve been hard at work up in Boston for the last few months preparing for and getting our hands dirty with our debut EP. We’re now onto the mixing stages which, barring setback, will be finished this weekend. Look for a late mid to late July release, with details on a Boston release party to come soon!
